OK, so maybe you don’t have any money to buy your kid’s dance teacher a present. After all, you’ve only budgeted for their school teachers right? That’s perfectly fine – don’t let anyone tell you that you have to buy presents for everyone. I would however, like to make the case for writing a card to the dance teachers in your life.
Why You Should Give Your Dance Teacher a Card
Hand-written notes are not the norm anymore. You may only send or receive them for wedding and baby presents. Giving your dance teacher a card that you wrote is all the more special in today’s society.
It Will Make Their Day
Most dance teachers will tell you: the gifts that touch their hearts the most are the ones that are hand-written. Dance teachers don’t expect any recognition. They teach dance because of the joy it brings them. But, like any teacher, a simple thank you or happy holidays will make a long day instantly better.
It Brightens Your Day Too
Studies have shown that practicing gratitude has a positive effect on all areas of your life. Taking 10 minutes out of your day to write a card to someone is a good way to keep a uplifting view on life.

You Can Bond With Your Child
The best cards come with messages from both parent and dancer. Spend some time together talking about what your dancer has learned in their dance class or what they like about their dance teacher. Use this time to come up with a nice message for the dance teacher’s card about a recent achievement the dance teacher helped develop. It could be landing a particular step or learning a new trick move.
When You Should Give Your Dance Teacher a Card
The most popular times to give dance teachers presents and cards are at the holidays and end-of-the-year shows. But it’s not the only time you can show gratitude towards a great or favorite dance teacher. Think outside of the box. Try wishing your dance teacher a happy birthday. Competition season is also a particularly stressful time for everybody – a small note will really be appreciated here.
